Dear Friend,
As you read this, Amazon warehouse workers and delivery drivers are already in full holiday mode. They're rushing from one side of a massive warehouse to another to fulfill orders as quickly as possible. Drivers are racing against the clock, forced to make an enormous number of deliveries at breakneck speeds. Other retail corporations have joined Amazon, expanding online shopping services, and using gig economy workers to make deliveries, Those companies are cashing in on the labor of their workers, while paying low wages, and offering few benefits or the health and safety measures that are so crucial–especially during the pandemic.
In turn, those corporations are using the profits to elect their preferred candidates to city councils, lobby elected officials for lucrative tax breaks, and fund union-busting campaigns to hinder our ability to organize and fight for social and economic justice.
What they didn't count on was our resolve. Together, we can provide tools, resources, and power to exploited workers, and to our movement to fight on their behalf because: generous donors have agreed to MATCH all donations dollar–for–dollar, but only if we reach 200 donations by the end of Giving Tuesday. Will you help us get this match?
