The Trump Administration just finalized their attack on states'
long-standing authority to implement strong clean car
standards-standards that cut climate pollution, help us breathe
clean air, and save Americans money at the gas pump.

We can't stand for this: Demand congressional oversight of this
attack on our health, safety, and wallets.

Here are the details:

The transportation sector is America's largest contributor of
climate pollution, as well as a major source of pollution dangerous to
our health.

For decades, states have led the way on cleaning up pollution from
cars, SUVs, and passenger trucks. The Clean Air Act enshrines their
authority to enforce protective clean car standards. Right now, a bipartisan
coalition of states across the country are helping drive
clean car solutions that reduce pollution while spurring fuel
efficiency improvements.

And yet, EPA Administrator Wheeler and Department of Transportation
Secretary Elaine Chao just finalized an all-out assault on this state
success story, with a rule that invalidates these vital programs.

The time for the Trump administration to take the climate crisis
seriously is long overdue. But this action to thwart states'
efforts puts us in the reverse direction of climate progress.

Call on Congress do to what's best for the American people, and
stop this dangerous attack in its tracks.
