John,
In a moment, we're going to ask you to chip in to Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock's campaigns in the Georgia runoff elections. But first, please let us explain why we need to flip Georgia and the Senate blue.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell remains a danger to the future of our democracy. His legislative graveyard in Congress has stalled progress at a time when we need intervention more than ever, and we need to send him packing:
-
Despite COVID-19 surging across the country and millions of people out of work, McConnell continues to block financial relief for Americans — but managed to hand out billions to wealthy corporations.
-
McConnell rushed through a Supreme Court nominee in less than one month (after blocking President Obama's for more than nine months), but couldn't be bothered to do the same for over 400 bills passed by the House.
-
Instead of helping workers get back on their feet, McConnell blocked legislation extending unemployment insurance benefits.
-
McConnell said that the government should cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid — programs hardworking people depend on.
-
McConnell blocked and voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act, a critical bill aimed at narrowing the pay gap between men and women.
-
While millions of Americans are being crushed by student loan debt, he blocked the "Bank on Students Emergency Loan Refinancing Act" that would have enabled millions of people with expensive student loans to refinance into more manageable payments.
-
As domestic terrorism and gun violence continues to spread, McConnell refuses to allow debate on remedies for gun violence.
-
McConnell once called himself a "Proud Guardian of Gridlock."
-
Worth more than $34 million, he blocked and voted against legislation to raise the minimum wage.
-
McConnell accused Democrats of "partisan hysteria" for caring about election security, yet swatted down all efforts to beef legislation up.
-
McConnell never met an institution he didn't mind breaking — and that includes the U.S. Postal Service. In the $1 trillion stimulus package, Mitch allocated ZERO dollars for the postal system — not even enough money to mail a postcard.
The American people DO NOT have to continue enduring this egregious disregard for public service. We can remove him from his post as Senate Majority Leader, but only if we win in Georgia.
Can Dwight count on you to split $5, $10, or whatever you can afford, to help the Ossoff and Reverend Warnock Campaigns take back the Senate majority in Georgia? Help Dwight end McConnell's tenure as Senate Majority leader NOW.
If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
With Jon and Reverend Warnock in the Senate, Dwight will have the partners he needs to pass critical legislation hardworking Americans need. That's why Dwight is working to make sure these two candidates have the groundswell of support they need to win.
This will not be an easy victory. McConnell and his allies are already pouring millions of dollars into Georgia to hold onto power and defeat Jon and Reverend Warnock.
So we need your help. Will you rush a split donation to these campaigns before the end-of-month deadline to help Democrats gain the Senate Majority? Our opportunity to flip the Senate hinges on winning these critical races in Georgia.
Thank you,
Evans HQ
