John,
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect occasion to officially join The Trust for Public Land, now is the time.
With Giving Tuesday around the corner, one of our generous supporters would like to welcome you to the movement to create parks and protect public lands for people by tripling any gift you make today, up to $250,000.
You don’t even have to wait until Tuesday to be part of this Giving Tuesday Triple Match Opportunity:
Give $25 and your gift will be tripled to become $75. Give $35 and your gift will multiply by three to $105. Give $50 and your gift will be worth three times as much, growing to $150.
If ever there were a Giving Tuesday when we need to give back to the public lands that give us so much, it’s this one. The COVID-19 pandemic has made our parks and public lands even more essential to our physical, mental, and spiritual health than ever before. Yet:
- Lands that were formerly a part of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments have been auctioned off for reckless development.
- Contractors are blasting sections of the precious landscape in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, a UNESCO biosphere reserve, to build a section of the border wall.
- Over 100 million Americans, including 28 million children, still do not have a quality park or green space within a 10-minute walk of home.
That’s why this Giving Tuesday Triple Match opportunity could not come at a more important time.
Your tax-deductible gift by December 1 — that’s Tuesday! — will make three times the impact on our work to reclaim, repair, and restore public lands that have suffered abuse and neglect for four years.
Make a Giving Tuesday gift that will go three times as far to help us protect our natural landscapes … work three times as hard to create parks in the neighborhoods where they’re needed most … and make three times the difference to build and connect trails for people to enjoy nature.
Your support for The Trust for Public Land makes such a difference to advance land conservation from coast to coast. In the past few months alone, together we have:
- Permanently protected 84 acres on the upper Verde River by adding the land to the Prescott National Forest. Located near Phoenix, Arizona, the 84 acres preserves natural resources and expands access for people to experience the river.
- Expanded access to the Appalachian Trail with the permanent protection of over 2,600 acres of land at Bald Mountain Pond in Maine’s North Woods.
- Awarded $350,000 in grants to ten nonprofits across eight major metropolitan areas to bolster local efforts to expand access to parks and green spaces in U.S. cities. This is progress toward our plan to ensure that 100% of people in U.S. cities have safe, easy access to a park by 2050.
However, after four years of assaults on our parks and public lands, in many ways our work to reclaim, repair, and restore these special places is just beginning.
That’s why our supporter has offered to match all gifts until Giving Tuesday, December 1. Please don’t wait any longer. Triple your impact for public lands for Giving Tuesday today.
Sincerely,
Kim Elliot
Senior Director of Annual Giving
