In recent weeks, Israel has faced multiple, simultaneous security threats from Iranian-backed aggression in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Gaza.
These threats included an Iranian plan to attack Israel with explosive-armed drones, rocket attacks, Iranian weapons transfers, and more.
Ensuring Israel has the ability to defend itself, by itself, is at the core of our work together.
And it is our responsibility to ensure bipartisan majorities in Congress understand the threats our ally faces and continue to provide the resources to help in Israel’s defense.
In this incredibly divisive time filled with partisanship and political discord, these imminent threats are a stark reminder that we must always rise above the ”controversy of the day” and focus our conversations with Congress on the U.S.-Israel relationship and the issues affecting Israel’s safety.
When we do that, America’s ally is safer, Iran’s attempts to kill innocent Israelis are stifled, and our national security interests are advanced.
