URGENT: EWG is falling short of 2019 fundraising goals, putting our research at risk. |
Dear friend,
Monsanto has called EWG's pesticide work "propaganda" and "misinformation." The Alliance for Food and Farming, a Big Ag front group has called the Dirty Dozen™ "fake news." 3M, the manufacturer of toxic Teflon chemicals known as PFAS, accused us of being "misleading" about their record of hiding the truth from the public.
They come after EWG because we tell the tough truth about how Big Ag and the chemical industry value profits more than our health.
Here's some more tough truth: EWG is dangerously behind on our 2019 fundraising goals, putting our research and our ability to fight off attacks at risk. Take a look:
Help EWG close the gap: Donate $10 or more today!
This shortfall couldn’t come at a worse time. We’re stepping up our work to get glyphosate, Monsanto’s cancer-linked weedkiller, out of our food, and toxic PFAS chemicals out of our environment and bodies. Every penny counts when you’re up against the deep pockets of Monsanto, 3M and other industry giants.
We can't keep up the research you rely on and fight back against these attacks unless we close that gap and raise $23,548 by the end of the month. We checked our records and saw that you haven't yet made your first donation to EWG. Can we count on you today?
You won't believe what some companies will do to protect their profits:
- 3M stood in front of Congress last week and claimed PFAS chemicals aren’t harmful to people – even though THEIR OWN RESEARCH shows they are.
- Internal Monsanto emails released in August showed the company wanted to "beat the sh**t" out of an advocacy group of moms who dared to question the safety of Roundup. The company dismissed this group as "dumb mothers"!
- News also broke that Monsanto has been trying to get politicians to defund the International Agency for Research on Cancer – the agency that first declared glyphosate a probable carcinogen.
They won’t protect your health, but you can count on EWG – if we have the funding we need.
More than HALF of EWG’s revenue comes from individuals like you. So if we don’t hit our goals, that means we are putting our overall budget at risk. I am really hoping that I can let the finance team know that you're going to come through. It takes just two minutes to do, and ANY amount makes a difference.
Thanks for standing with us, friend.
