Hello,

Bad news -- it looks like Trump's influence is here to stay. As Axios reports, "President Trump has already told advisers he's thinking about running for president again in 2024" and that "40% of Americans surveyed between Nov. 5-7 believe that Trump would run for president in 2024."

After a year in which Trump attacked public health experts while countless Americans lost their lives, applauded white supremacists while condemning peaceful racial justice protests, and openly threatened our democratic integrity, the least we expected was an overwhelming show of force against this failed president.

But instead, we got a presidential race as tight as it was in 2016 -- and Trump received more votes than any Republican presidential candidate in history. Rather than condemning Trump's inhumane actions, Americans willingly applauded and expanded support for Trumpism this election.

The New York Times described Trumpism as "a performance of nationalism, one that triangulates between open chauvinism in favor of the dominant ethnic group and narrow appeals to inclusion, with the promise of material gain for anyone who joins his coalition."

We cannot take Trump lightly just because he's on his way out of office. Americans are still buying into Trump's authoritarian rhetoric, which will become even more disastrous if we let it. Trump even received major support in traditionally Democratic constituencies. We're extremely concerned with Trump's growing base, which is why we need to know where Democrats like you stand:

Are you worried Trump's influence won't end on January 20, 2021?
