No images? Click here Dear John, You may have heard of the UK Government’s decision to cut aid during the current global pandemic. With coronavirus forcing 115 million people into extreme poverty this year, we believe this decision is morally reprehensible. It will affect millions of people’s lives. We are determined to continue working with communities across the world to ensure that people can protect their health and defend their rights. But as the need increases, funding is decreasing. Given the current situation, we are urgently asking our friends and supporters to contribute whatever you can at this critical time. Right now, we believe that we need more UK government funding to tackle global poverty, poor health and inequality – not less. We also believe in a new vision for this funding – that rights historic wrongs and tackles the root causes of poverty worldwide. While we are urging the UK government to reverse the aid budget cut and improve aid spending, we are also doing all we can to raise funds to directly support vital work in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Please give whatever you can today and help to protect health for all:
Yours sincerely, Siaffa Bunduka Supporter Engagement Manager |
