Tammy Baldwin began her career as an openly LGBTQ county supervisor, was elected to the state legislature, then the U.S. Congress, before becoming our first openly LGBTQ U.S. Senator. Tammy paved the way for so many LGBTQ leaders. Who do you think is the next Tammy Baldwin? [[link removed]]
This annual award is given to an up-and-coming state or local LGBTQ elected official with a promising political career: someone who champions equality and lives to fight for the LGBTQ community. Previous honorees include Florida State Representative Carlos Guillermo Smith and Virginia Delegate Danica Roem.
