"Congressman John Lewis, before his passing, wrote: 'Democracy is not a state. It is an act.' And what he meant, was that America's democracy is not guaranteed, it is only as strong as our willingness to fight for it, to guard it, and never take it for granted."
John,
This is how Kamala Harris began her speech on the night that she and Joe Biden became president and vice president-elect. And right now is one of those moments to fight for our democracy.
Donald Trump's refusal to formally concede, while unsurprising, is more damaging to our country's strength and national security by the day. The General Services Administration has begun the process of transitioning in the Biden-Harris team, so we need to make sure that once Trump leaves office, he doesn't get away scot-free.
From here on out, my top priority is protecting our democracy in this transition. Will you chip in $5 by midnight's end-of-month deadline so I can keep up that fight? >> [link removed]
Thank you,
Diana
Diana is relying on grassroots donors to continue fighting for Colorado values in Congress. Can we count on you to chip in $5 -- or whatever you can today -- to help her keep fighting?
