The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) recently published the first global standard on tax transparency, which is set to go into effect in 2021. It supports public, disaggregated reporting of a company's business activities and payments by each tax jurisdiction, as well as their overall approach to tax strategy and governance. GRI's Tax Standard was developed by a multi-stakeholder technical committee consisting of representatives from PricewaterhouseCoopers, MFS Investment Management, Vodafone, and the Tax Justice Network, among others, while its creation was informed by global consultation.

During this International Anti-Corruption Conferenceworkshop, GRI will present the standard; civil society representatives will comment on its importance for bolstering sustainable development and reversing economic inequality; investors will discuss how this tax information can better inform market valuations, financial stability, and long-term investments; businesses will explain the value of transparency to their companies and the overall business climate; and former policymakers will discuss the potential for policy advancements in the coming years.

Featuring Remarks from:
* Adam Kanzer, Head of Stewardship - Americas, BNP Paribas Asset Management
* Eelco van der Enden, Partner, PwC Netherlands and Boardmember, Global Reporting Initiative
* Elise Bean, former Staff Director and Chief Counsel, U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations
* Niko Lusiani, Senior Advisor, Oxfam America
* Moderator: Erica Hanichak, Government Affairs Director, The FACT Coalition
