I think we both agree that Black Friday is usually all about consumerism, whether you’re shopping for others or treating yourself. But after all that’s happened this year, we’d like you to do something different today: give.

This time however, it’s not to us.

I am particularly proud of our partnerships with local organizations here at home this year, helping communities around the United States impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. But while we may have closed those projects, we still want to support their work and the communities they serve.

That’s why we’re asking you to give to one—or all—of the incredible local organizations we partnered with to support underserved communities in the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic:

Support Shower Power as they promote greater access to hygiene and sanitation for New Yorkers experiencing homelessness.

Support at-risk communities in Puerto Rico with a gift to Puerto Rico Salud, a new organization created by former MSF staff members.

Support the Coalition of Immokalee Workers as they continue their vital work supporting 20,000+ migrant farm workers in Florida.

These are just some of the local organizations that Doctors Without Borders partnered with during our unprecedented projects here in the United States earlier this year. They continue to deliver essential support to the communities they serve. That’s why it’s more important than ever that they have the support of our global community.

Help ensure that at-risk communities in the United States have the access and resources they need to face this pandemic. Make a contribution to one—or maybe all?—of these local organizations.
