Donald Trump is ramping up claims that he “WON THE ELECTION” even as his legal challenges fall in several states where Biden won by narrow margins.
While his attempts to stay in power might appear futile, Trump’s tantrums are more about delegitimizing Joe Biden’s administration than staying in the White House.
“Instead of an actual attempt to locate more votes or even to reverse the election results, Trump's legal efforts appear designed instead to seed conspiracy theories … preserve power over the Republican Party and cast a pall of illegitimacy over Biden's tenure,” as CNN reports.
And his ploy seems to be working. A majority of Republican leaders have refused to publicly acknowledge Joe Biden’s and Kamala Harris’ win -- and a POLITICO poll found that an astounding 70% of Republicans don’t believe the election was “free” or “fair.”
We know that there was nothing ‘illegitimate’ about this election -- the people have spoken.
