Saskatoon paramedic Jason Trask has been named “Paramedic of the Year” by the Paramedic Association of Canada.
"It’s very humbling to get the recognition," said Trask, who has been working as a paramedic for 22 years.
Trask was the first paramedic in Saskatchewan to receive critical care paramedicine distinction. He works as an in-flight paramedic for STARS and manages the emergency department at Royal University Hospital.

Ottawa Matters
Hundreds of paramedics, taking part in the annual Paramedic Ride from Toronto to Ottawa, are set to arrive in the capital.
Through the ride, which started on Friday and ends Monday, cyclists are raising funds and awareness for a national paramedics memorial monument to be built in Ottawa.

It's since proven so valuable that it's expanding to include Orillia and Oro-Medonte permanently.

Five people in Saskatchewan raised tens of thousands of dollars to support STARS air ambulance as part of the fifth annual Rescue on the Prairie, held on Sept. 5 at a remote location east of Saskatoon.
