Hi Friend, A national emergency requires a national strategy, and the pandemic is no exception. We are living through a second wave with record daily case numbers all around the country. As we head into the holiday season, it is time for us to respect the advice of medical experts who are calling for increased cooperation and collaboration between different levels of government to ensure that Canadians are protected. The Green Party is calling on the federal government to protect Canadians by striking an intergovernmental COVID-19 task force made up of health officials to create a national strategy on testing, tracing, codification and clear messaging. We also need a national vaccination distribution plan. Our current approach, marked by mixed messages and lack of cross-jurisdiction cooperation, is not working and is putting lives at stake. Other countries with greater success in lowering case numbers and containing the pandemic, such as New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan and Australia, all have national COVID-19 strategies. Will you join me in calling on our government to act? Greens are offering the leadership we need. SIGN ON!Share this letter with your family, friends, bubble or on social media! Let’s send a clear message that Canada needs an intergovernmental COVID-19 task force to develop a national strategy to get the pandemic under control. Stay safe, |
