Friend,
I wanted to take a moment today to wish you a happy Thanksgiving.
The holidays this year look different than what we are used to. It is so hard to be separated from our loved ones, especially on days where we are meant to be celebrating together. This pandemic has been devastating for our country -- and for the 260,000 families who are missing their loved ones we’ve lost to COVID, today is far from the only difficult day.
But today has also reminded me of the resilience of the American people. I am thankful for everyone who wears a mask to keep their neighbors and communities safe. I am thankful for the frontline, essential workers who have kept our country going. I am thankful for the scientists helping to develop a vaccine. And I am thankful for my family and friends, my incredible team, my neighbors and community members, our volunteers and interns and fellows, and everyone in the 53rd District for giving me the opportunity to serve. I am thankful for you.
My colleagues and I are keenly aware of the responsibility put on our shoulders -- to lead our country out of this crisis and deliver tangible, meaningful results -- so that next Thanksgiving, we can gather and celebrate with our loved ones again.
Thank you for believing in a future we can build together.
From my family to yours, happy Thanksgiving.
Warmly,
Sara
