Folks,

I wanted to take a moment today and say thank you. I know our celebrations will look quite different this year and it’s difficult to be away from those we love, but it’s important we keep ourselves and our families safe so we can enjoy future holidays together.

Despite every challenge this year has thrown at us, we still have much to be thankful for. I'm especially grateful for the essential workers who have been on the frontlines of this pandemic, working day in and day out to keep families across our state healthy and safe. The nurses that gave our loved ones comfort when none of us could. The firefighters that battled historic fires to keep our homes safe. And the grocery store workers that kept our families fed.

The compassion and resilience that they have shown embody so much of what it means to be a Californian. It’s that spirit of unity and strength that will get us through this difficult time, and will help us persevere and build anew.

Thank you for being a part of this team -- for all you have helped us accomplish. We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us, but for now, I hope you have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Gavin
