Dear friends,

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope that you and your family are having a wonderful holiday.

Across New Mexico and the country, Thanksgiving looks a little different this year. Extended families are gathering together over Zoom, and secret family recipes have been shared to bridge the distance with younger generations away from home.

2020 has been a difficult time for all of us, with challenges that would have been unimaginable last Thanksgiving. But still, we have so much to be thankful for.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, New Mexicans have stepped up to help their neighbors in need — sewing masks, organizing food trains for the sick and elderly, and observing social distancing to reduce the spread of the pandemic.

Together, we’ve shown the resilience, strength, and selflessness that has always defined our state. I’m deeply grateful for the everyday courage that has been displayed during this pandemic — and as your voice in Congress, I will keep working every day to build the bright future our families deserve.

Have a joyful, happy holiday — and stay safe and well.
