The holiday season has snuck up on us once again!

After a difficult year, it's natural to want to celebrate Thanksgiving with our friends and family. However, with COVID-19 cases on the rise across the country -- including here in Southern California -- now is the time to prioritize the health and safety of our communities by following COVID-19 safety guidelines.

That includes staying at home when possible, keeping our gatherings small, and wearing a mask outdoors.

As someone who looks forward to holiday get-togethers all year long, I understand how disappointing it feels to not be able to gather with friends and family this year. But, by social distancing and practicing caution, we are helping preserve future celebrations with our loved ones.

Instead, I encourage each of you to use today as a time for reflection -- what or who is it that has helped you get through this year? Where, how, and with who will you celebrate next year, when we hopefully find ourselves out of this crisis?

This year has been hard on us all, but there is still much to be thankful for. I, for one, am thankful for you. Your support keeps me fighting for the working families of CA-38; a responsibility that I will never take for granted.

With that, I want to wish you a safe, healthy, and happy Thanksgiving and holiday season.

From my family to yours,

-- Linda Sánchez
