**Salary:*The starting salary is 25,295 (Level One) rising to 26,999 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period.
* *Contracted Hours*: 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, although we will need you to work flexibly on a full-time basis and also take part in the 24 hour on call system on a rota basis (this will attract an on call allowance).*
* Nottingham City Councils Multi Systemic Therapy Child Abuse and Neglect (MST CAN) Team are looking for the ideal candidate to join our team as an MST CAN Clinical Support Worker. MST CAN is a home-based intensive treatment for families with children and young people subject to a Child Protection Plan under the category of neglect or physical harm. It is an evidenced based treatment that has been developed to work with families with complex needs, in order to increase safety and keep children at home. MST CAN works to address specific problems and risk factors that brought the family to the attention of Childrens Social Care. The major goals are to keep families together, assure that children are safe, prevent abuse and neglect and reduce mental health difficulties experienced by adults and children and increase natural support networks. MST CAN adopts an intensive approach (numerous sessions per week) and works with families in their natural ecology (their home, school and wider community) rather than in a clinical setting. Appointments are made to meet the familys needs and an MST CAN practitioner is available 24/7 to all families in treatment through an on call facility. The Clinical Support Worker duties include assisting therapists in obtaining clinical outcomes with families, maintaining safety, teaching parenting and other skills, collecting drug screens, and responding to emergencies. You will have a degree/equivalent in a relevant field and specific experience and knowledge of MST CAN approaches that include parent management training, crisis intervention, behaviour modification, child development knowledge, substance abuse treatment, and community-based treatment services. Full training and continuous professional development in the MST CAN model will be provided. The Clinical support work will receive weekly group supervision from the MST CAN supervisor and clinical consultation from MST Services. *ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Qualified to graduate level in relevant field, e.g. social work, mental health clinical specialism or relevant equivalent. Strong understanding and practical experience in areas included in the MST CAN model: these include parent management training, crisis management, behaviour modification, child development knowledge, substance abuse treatment, and community-based treatment services. Experience of family based interventions with young people. Strong understanding and demonstrable experience of all aspects of safeguarding and management of risk to children and young people as they relate to the work of the team. This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check This role requires you to participate in the on call rota.*
