From my family to yours, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
It's been a trying year for all of us, yet we still very much have incredible things to be thankful for.
Joe Biden is going to be our next President and I can wake up in the morning without having to worry about what crazy Tweet will derail the country for another 48-hour news cycle. Soon, we'll have an administration that will look out for us "little guys" and won't try scoring points by dividing us with needless fearmongering.
I mourn those we've lost this year. Over 18,156 Floridians, 260k Americans, and untold millions worldwide from COVID alone. It's an unspeakable tragedy as each and every lost sole was a father or mother, husband or wife, son or daughter to somebody. I'm thankful for the lives they lived, the memories they leave, and the lives they touched here on Earth.
I'm thankful for our troops abroad (I've been there too many times myself) and the families they left behind. We stand by you now and always.
In my life, not only did we win a seat in the Florida House against all-odds, the girl of my dreams finally agreed to our first date after a 15-year friendship, and now we're getting married on Saturday!!! Even better, I get two amazing twins, Flynn and Lola, as part of the deal so I can play with Legos again without it being weird. :)
So far, my family has made it through this pandemic mostly unscathed; my sister has returned from teaching in China; and my company, GradePower Learning, has survived with all our employees still on payroll.
I'm thankful for each of you. It is so humbling to know that thousands of friends, family, and supporters I've never met dug so deep to help us win this seat in the Florida House. I'm overwhelmed by your faith and generocity and I'm thankful for this opportunity to serve.
We have a lot of work to do going forward, but today we give thanks.
Happy Thanksgiving!
