Josh Elder Thanksgiving A message from Josh Elder Nov. 26, 2020 Hello John, As I wake this morning I want share my thanks and gratitude for you and the community we share. This year has been bigger than us and challenging in ways unexpected — but we have each taken one step at a time and forged positive change for our County and beyond - and built on the values we share. I want to thank you for all that you do on behalf of our community and our democracy. For many of us, this year has been isolating. I look forward to the days ahead when we can again come together in person as we have before. For me personally this year away on deployment in the Middle East away from my wife and young children was beyond measure and it has made me grateful and thankful for all that is good in my life. Last week I intubated two patients with COVID and COVID cases are again are on the rise. We are all at risk and we all share the challenge of protecting each other. Today I take this moment away from the business of the world to be thankful for the goodness and greatness of those around me and for knowing that we will continue to do what we do despite the challenges ahead. Be safe, be well, let’s forge ahead. Joshua W. Elder, Chair El Dorado County Democratic Party Winter Lodging for El Dorado County's Homeless residents The holiday season conjures up images of comfort foods, family, warmth, and love but this is not the case for everyone. This year is a year of great need for many and this is especially true for the homeless population. Holiday traditions can be passed down from generation to generation, and we would love to challenge folks to start a new tradition by donating to the Pathways Project. Your donation will provide warmth and comfort. Just imagine the feeling of providing lodging for another human being! Ordinary people, given the opportunity, can do extraordinary things. Won’t you take this opportunity to be extraordinary and show the next generation the gift of giving? Donations Appreciated - Click HERE for more information.
