John,
While there is still much to be thankful for -- like our historic win in IL-03 which you and many others worked so hard to help us achieve -- Thanksgiving looks a bit different this year.
So many families in Illinois’ Third District and across the country have faced enormous loss and hardship since last November. For all of those grieving the loss of a loved one or facing financial hardship, my team and I have you in our hearts and are committed to fighting for you at every step of this journey.
I have been grateful and inspired to see our community come together so resolutely as a result of the pandemic. All around me, I have seen everyday people stepping up to help their neighbors. COVID-19 has highlighted how much work we need to do to create a just, equitable world, but it has also shown how much we can accomplish when we support one another.
This Thanksgiving, I wanted to highlight some of the great organizations who have gone above-and-beyond to care for our community. If you can, consider supporting them as they approach the holiday season.
My team has also compiled a COVID resource guide with information on testing, unemployment assistance, housing assistance and much more. Access the full guide here.
Finally, I am grateful for all of you-- the supporters and volunteers who have not only been at my side but have built a vibrant and caring community. Thank you for all you do, and stay safe this holiday season. God bless.
Marie
