Hi,
I want to express my deepest appreciation for your support
of EARTHDAY.ORG’s™ work this year. It has been a pivotal
year for the health of our planet and its people, and I am so thankful
for what we have been able to achieve together, despite the trials and
tribulations of 2020.
We remain steadfast in our mission to broaden, diversify
and mobilize the environmental movement. And as 2020 comes to
a close, EARTHDAY.ORG is excited to build on its many accomplishments
this year.
In 2020, we:
- Activated hundreds of millions of people for the 50th anniversary
of Earth Day.
- Pivoted when COVID-19 shut down in-person gatherings, creating an
8.5 million viewer-strong digital event that greatly expanded our
network of organizations, government leaders, and grassroots
activists.
- Kicked off a worldwide effort to make climate literacy universal
for school kids, forming a coalition of NGO's, unions and governments
to put pressure on the UN and global powers.
- Organized 8 million volunteers into coronavirus-safe cleanup
efforts under The Great Global Cleanup™.
- Channeled the energy from Earth Day into our ongoing Earth Day
Live series, showcasing the brightest minds and most engaging topics
in the movement.
- Drove voter registration and turnout efforts across the U.S. with
state and local outreach and a nationally televised live event through
our Vote Earth program.
- Planted trees across the world through our $1 for 1 tree deal
under The Canopy Project™.
- Launched the world's largest citizen science project, Earth
Challenge 2020, which invites everyone to participate in scientific
research through the click of a button in the app.
- Released a groundbreaking report, in partnership with Yale
University, on climate and diet.
- Created a youth leadership program, My Future My Voice,
across Asia, Africa and the Americas.

None of this would have been possible without you, and I am
so grateful for your support. As we look to the next decade
in the fight for climate action, environmental justice and ecosystem
restoration, we hope that you will continue to stand with us.
