Dear John,

As I sat down to write my Thanksgiving message to you, I was simply in
awe of your commitment to the work that we are doing together -
tapping into the power of kindness to fuel our mission. Because a
kinder world is a world where our vision becomes a reality. A kinder
world is one where all people with autism can reach their full
potential.

When we celebrated our birthday back in February, we committed to
making 2020 our "year of kindness" and we invited you to
help us inspire 1 million kind acts. From sharing kind stories...
to pledging to commit an act of kindness... to advocating for a
kinder world for people with autism... our community truly rose to
the occasion, and we reached this goal together.

Little did we know when the year started just how many obstacles it
would bring. These obstacles touched everyone - but for many people
with autism, they were especially profound. I'm filled with
appreciation and pride to know the autism community - you, our
supporters, our volunteers, our staff and above all the families and
individuals we serve - emerged more committed to our mission than ever
before. We knew the autism community was strong. We have been amazed
and moved to see the impact this strength can have.

Your strength and commitment are empowering crucial work to ensure
people on the spectrum can gain access to resources, assistance and
support. You're fueling life-enhancing research that will help
every individual receive the best possible care. You're ensuring
all children can benefit from early screening and intervention.
You're making the world more accepting, understanding and
inclusive for our diverse and broad community.

I know Thanksgiving may look different for you this year, and it will
for me, too. One thing that hasn't changed: I am forever
thankful for you.

With deep gratitude,

Angela Geiger
