As I write this, I’m sitting in my home office, where I have been working since
March. Many things in my life —in all of our lives — aren’t what they were this
time last year.
But I have so much to be grateful for: For my health and that of my loved ones
(even if I miss their hugs). For trout streams, which continue to bring me
solace and inspiration. For the simple privilege of turning on my kitchen sink
and enjoying a glass of clean water. And for you.
Thank you for sticking by American Rivers — especially this year. Without you,
we couldn’t continue to do the important work of saving rivers and the clean,
life-supporting water they provide.
I sincerely hope that however you’re safely celebrating this week, that it is
with good food, a lot of love, and with images in your mind, on your screens, or
in sight of your favorite river.
