This Thanksgiving is unlike any other we’ve ever had. For many of us, this will be the first year we don’t gather with friends and family to share a wonderful meal and welcome the holiday season. For some, there may have been someone at our table last year that is longer with us.

COVID-19 has changed the world, Jack xxxxxx. But it didn’t have to be this bad.

Here in Texas, tens of thousands of Texans have died on Abbott’s watch while he’s routinely failed to heed the advice of scientists and medical experts. He’s refused to step out of line with the Trump administration and thwarted local government officials as they tried to contain deadly spikes in cases. He’s even blocked local governments from taking steps to protect their respective communities.

Let us never forget this Thanksgiving. It is a reminder of the failed leadership of politicians like Greg Abbott and Donald Trump who were supposed to keep our communities safe. They betrayed us -- and now our health and our economy are suffering.
