John,
Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours, and from all the PJI family! We can all agree that this year has been filled with much sorrow and tribulation, but we can attest to God’s grace and mercy even during seasons such as these. We at PJI are thankful for all that we have accomplished this year because of your prayers and support. We want to share in the spirit of thanksgiving by telling you some of our accomplishments:
- PJI is experiencing unprecedented growth, with offices and attorneys on the battlef field not only across the West Coast, but now in New York, Texas, Colorado, Nevada and Mississippi.
- Presently, we are representing believers, many of whom have undergone torture or witnessed the murders of close family and fellow believers—from China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, the former Soviet Union and more.
- In a terrific court decision, we were victorious in overcoming criminal charges against an evangelist in Iowa. PJI attorneys were able to demonstrate the unequal and unconstitutional enforcement of local ordinances being used to single out and target preaching.
- It was so refreshing for the judge to reach this decision, showing an understanding of the vital and continuing role of the First Amendment!
- Recently, in Colorado, our local staff attorney was able to assemble such strong evidence in defense of a pastor that the prosecutor was forced to drop charges! This pastor offers hope and practical help—such as adoption—outside an abortion clinic. He had been charged with “harassment”, when he was merely urging a heckler to engage in conversation rather than flash obscene gestures at the pastor.
We at PJI believe that prayer matters. We understand many are experiencing financial troubles, so we invite you to keep us in prayer because this makes the difference!
- The future of our religious freedoms are at stake — public evangelism, free speech, parental rights, and faith-based businesses are being targeted. Pray for wisdom and guidance for the legal team.
- Pray for us as we still have active cases defending and representing outdoor evangelists in Texas, Florida, California, Oregon and Washington state.
- As PJI continues expansion, please pray that we will be provided with the necessary funds and support for new offices to serve more of those across the country in desperate need of help.
- Please pray for Pastor Peter Mordh, PJI’s Pastor Liaison, as he focuses his attention on the crucial upcoming Senate runoffs in the state of Georgia.
Again, thank you so much for your continued support of Pacific Justice Institute. Though the fight is not over, we can stand back and see that God is at work in this ministry—and for that, we are overwhelmed with gratitude. We hope you are encouraged. May God bless you and your family, and Happy Thanksgiving!
Running the race,
Brad Dacus with the
