John,
In the spirit of tomorrow’s Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to extend a note of gratitude and thanks for being a part of this incredible grassroots team.
There’s no doubt that this year has been long and difficult so far. We entered this year knowing that there were hard fights ahead of us.
Between putting an end to the Trump administration, to electing six amazing folks who will unapologetically speak truth to power with me in Washington, to simply waking up every day during this crisis and choosing to fight for a better world—I’m grateful that you were by my side every step of the way, John.
While there’s certainly a lot to celebrate and a lot to be grateful for, there’s also a lot of work ahead of us. Democracy isn’t something that we check on once every four years; it’s a living, breathing system that requires our constant care and attention.
And on this Thanksgiving holiday, I hope you’ll take a breather to safely reconnect with loved ones, eat a delicious meal, and dream about a brighter future—because there’s more in store in the coming months and in the new year, John. I hope you’ll continue to join me in the fight.
More soon,
Katie Porter
