John —
When I voted no on the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) in 2001, it didn’t occur to me that I was the only one.
Like many controversial votes I’ve made, I acted out of my determination to do what I believe is morally, ethically, and constitutionally right.
Each time I am faced with a difficult cause that is sure to be met with resistance, I know I must persevere. Because that is what those who have encountered dog-faced opposition — like my mother and Rosa Parks — have always done.
It is why, no matter how difficult the path, I will always fight for justice. It’s why I will always go to bat for our values until this government is one for the people — one that will rise to meet the crises our nation faces with urgency.
Our accomplishments this month are proof that our movement is strong. But John, while we may have won the race, the battle for progress is still ongoing. Will you stand up in our fight for transformational change by making a $10 contribution to my campaign today? [[link removed]]

It is past time progress should be made for those who have fought, sacrificed, and waited for it. It is time for freedom, equality, justice, dignity, and resources to be extended to everyone — not just the rich and powerful.
Anything is possible when we come together. Electing the first woman of color to serve as Vice President, ousting the Trump administration, and flipping Georgia blue with the help of Stacey Abrams provide all the proof we could ever need.
But, John, there is still work to do. And the fact of the matter is — to achieve the truth, justice, and healing our nation needs — I cannot do it without you.
Our progressive movement is built upon doing what is right — no matter if it is hard, no matter what. Together, we’ll build an America that works for everyone. Please make a contribution of $10 or more to power our movement today. [[link removed]]
In solidarity,
