John,

On this Thanksgiving, I'm especially thankful for the opportunity to serve South Florida in Congress every day. Thank you for your support in making that happen and for working so ardently to elect me and strong Democrats up and down the ballot — I promise we’ll continue to fight for you every day.

This Thanksgiving is going to look different than years past. With over 250,000 Americans dead and positive test rates continuing to rise, we cannot celebrate as we usually do. I hope you’ll join my family and me in following the CDC guidelines [[link removed]] this Thanksgiving.

-They recommend postponing travel and staying home when possible
-If you do have to travel for Thanksgiving, ask yourself the following questions and revise your plans as necessary:
Are you or someone in your household at increased risk of getting very sick from COVID-19?
Are cases high or increasing either in your community or your destination?
Are hospitals overwhelmed in either place?
Are there any restrictions in your destination?
In the 14 days before travel, have you had contact with anyone you do not live with?
Are you traveling via a mode of transport that might make distancing difficult?
Are you traveling with people you don’t live with?
-Wear a mask to protect yourself and others around you.
-Stay at least 6 feet away from people who do not live with you.
-Wash your hands consistently for at least 20 seconds with soap and water.
-Consider making any gathering outdoors and bring your own food, utensils, and drinks.

While different, Thanksgiving is still a day for reflection, gratitude, and good cheer with our loved ones. I hope you and your family have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Always,

Lois
