[[link removed]]Dear John,
Write for Rights is only two weeks away and we can't wait! On December 10th,
International Human Rights Day, people across the globe will send millions of letters, emails and tweets in
solidarity with people whose human rights have been denied.
When we all act together, we are more powerful.
Will you help change a life with Write for Rights on December 10th?
Together, we will be putting pressure on governments, leaders and
decision-makers. We will show love and support for the people featured in this
year’s cases and their families. People like:
* Jani Silva , who risks her life every day to protect the Amazon in Colombia
* Gustavo Gatica , who was shot and blinded by police for protesting in Chile
* Germain Rukuki, sentenced to 32 years in prison for his peaceful human rights
work in Burundi
Last year, more than 6.6 million actions were taken in homes, schools and public spaces across Canada and the world. And
we helped to change lives, including that of 18-year-old Magai Matiop Ngong , who was freed from death row in South Sudan in July 2020:
“Thank you so much. I have no words. You have no idea how my heart is filled
with happiness." – Magai, Write for Rights 2019 case
This year’s Write for Rights will look a little different with COVID-19
restrictions, but the impact of your action will be just as powerful. Your voice
is essential to ensure that our support is felt more than ever in these
