This holiday, as we consider what we’re thankful for in what has been the most challenging year for so many, the list may come up shorter than we’d like.

It’s especially difficult to be grateful in a year that has taken so many of our loved ones, hurt our small businesses and disrupted our way of life.

But on the eve of Thanksgiving, here’s what I’m thankful for: we’re closer than ever to having an effective vaccine to combat this virus. The end to this dark period of our nation is in sight.

This week, the General Services Administration recognized President-elect Joe Biden’s victory, allowing the Biden administration to formally begin the transition process. The peaceful transfer of power, one of the cornerstones of American democracy, is finally underway.

With Biden’s leadership, we’ll finally fight this pandemic head-on, plan for vaccine distribution and reopen our economy. Brighter days are ahead.

This Thanksgiving, my heart goes out to those who have lost so much this year. I wish you all peace, hope for what’s to come and good health, from my family to yours.

Henry
