Last night we got updates from both Los Angeles and Ventura County, and we are currently 405 votes behind.

It's abundantly clear that we won't know the results of this race until the very last vote is counted -- and the count will continue through the end of the month.

We need to be able to keep paying our lawyers and keep up our ballot curing efforts through November 28th (the last day to cure ballots in LA County). To do that, we have to hit our $225,000 goal.

We're over two-thirds of the way there. Can you help by pitching in $5 or more today?

There's an extra roadblock to our efforts: Unlike during the general election, we can't rely on raising money or reaching voters through ads on Facebook or Google, because they are still banning political ads.

That's a real liability for a campaign like ours, which needs to pay bills long after Election Day. And it particularly undermines Democrats, who raise more money online and through smaller donations than our Republican opponents.

That's why we've been asking you again and again for your support, John. Without the ability to raise money off Facebook and Google ads, we're relying on supporters like you to step up and chip in through these emails.

So I have to ask right now: Can you chip in $5 or more towards our $225,000 recount fund goal? We're still $55,732 short, and we need to close the gap.
