Happy New ‘Liturgical’ Year!

Dear Friend,

This coming Sunday, Nov. 29, is the first Sunday of Advent which marks the beginning of a new liturgical season; a New Year. The Church year is distinctive from Jan. 1, New Year’s Day, the beginning of the calendar year, or say July 1, the beginning of the fiscal year for many businesses.

Is it any wonder why John the Baptist is the main saint of Advent since the Latin term adventus focuses not only on the past coming of Jesus on the first Christmas, but also on the present coming of Jesus in our lives and in the sacraments. A four-week liturgical season ‘lasting four Sundays and 28 days’ Advent precedes Christmas and stresses the renewal of hope and joy!

I cannot imagine a year in which we need to dedicate ourselves full heartedly to becoming more involved with our faith and to embracing the meaning of Christmas and life as a Catholic faith community. In addition to renewing hope and joy, Advent calls us to a season of preparation.

So, as we prepare to turn our eyes to the coming of Jesus, the foundation of our hope, let us come together to live anew the saving mysteries and to sing "O come Emmanuel."

I also encourage you to submit your new or updated intentions now to be presented for the Operation Storm Heaven Mass and Holy Rosary to be said on Tuesday, the 1st of December.

His Eminence Cardinal Raymond Burke and thousands of Rosary Warriors from around the world are waiting for the 1st of the month to roll around when they will pray in unison for your intentions.

Our Lord knows the desires and needs of our hearts, but still He tells us we must ask to receive. So please, submit your intentions before the 1st of December, 2020.

Please know how grateful I am that Operation Storm Heaven is swelling its ranks continuously through your prayerful support as we march our way to one million around the world. Welcome to our new Rosary Warriors!

As St. Louis De Montfort related:

“Finally, when people say the Rosary together it is far more formidable to the devil than one said privately, because in this public prayer it is an army that is attacking him. He can often overcome the prayer of an individual, but if this prayer is joined to that of other Christians, the devil has much more trouble in getting the best of it.”

The four weeks of Advent are a season of preparation for Christmas. They are a time to deepen our interior peace and our longing for Heaven.

The Holy Rosary is a powerful and treasured prayer every day of the year, but especially during Advent, when we pray to have a closeness to the Christ-Child in the same way Our Lady did when she carried Him in her womb.

Last, but not least, I would like to ask if you can make a donation to help us grow and spread the campaigns and activities of Catholic Action. This is very important! Your contribution will help us to reach more people to join us in the prayerful endeavor.

Our lives are a preparation for Heaven. The daily Rosary is a crucial element of that lifelong endeavor!
