Jump into action at our December conference breakout sessions
CCL’s December conference, “United We Move,” is coming up fast! Please register to join us on Dec. 5-6, and start browsing the conference program to see which breakout sessions you want to attend. The breakout themes include:
- Reaching for Everyone — These breakout sessions discuss connecting with climate advocates of all stripes: youth, people of color, conservatives, and those on the international stage. We even have a dedicated session to help new climate advocates jump into action. Choose one and add it to your calendar!
- State Breakouts — During this portion of the breakouts, you’ll gather with new and experienced climate advocates from your own state to strategize activities for 2021.
- Building Political Will — These breakout sessions will build your skills in different areas, like grasstops outreach, local media, lobbying and more. Check out the descriptions and pick one to attend.
We hope you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving this week. If the topic of climate change comes up during your celebrations, invite your friends and family to join you at “United We Move.”
Other news this week: Rep. Fischer on Growing Climate Solutions Act - Sen. Deb Fischer signed on as a cosponsor to the Growing Climate Solutions Act, one of CCL’s “secondary ask” bills. The Nebraska Republican announced her cosponsorship in a tweet. CCL Nebraska provided a supportive statement, which she also shared. Call Congress on Dec. 3: As we head into our December virtual conference and lobby days, help make our meetings with congressional offices a success by calling your members of Congress and asking them to support a price on carbon to solve climate change. Be sure to use our action tool to help track our calls. |

Unlock $100K matching gift on #GivingTuesday
December 1st is #GivingTuesday and the launch of our year-end fundraiser. And this Giving Tuesday, we have a make or break matching gift challenge! If we make our $200,000 Giving Tuesday goal, we have a donor who has agreed to make a $100,000 contribution in celebration of this important milestone. But we must hit our goal on this day to secure this additional funding! Will you help us unlock this generous gift by making a donation to tax-deductible Citizens’ Climate Education? Save the date for December 1st or donate early to have your gift applied to our progress bar on Giving Tuesday.
Whether you’re able to give $10, $100, or $1,000+ — every donation counts. We need policymakers to come together in support of significant climate solutions, and we need it to happen quickly. Your donation will help scale our grassroots capacity in the next year, so that we can make an even greater impact in Congress. Will you help lead the way? |

Take action this week
If you have a little time: Watch our Thanksgiving video, in which we give thanks to the many amazing things our volunteers did this year under difficult circumstances to continue building momentum for climate solutions. If you have more time: Join our upcoming webinar with special guest Dr. Alexander Barron, professor of Environmental Science and Policy at Smith College. In a recent Nature Climate Change paper with co-author Noah Kaufman, Dr. Barron presents a new method for calculating the carbon price necessary to reduce carbon emissions fast enough to prevent catastrophic climate change. The webinar takes place Dec. 2, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, and is hosted by CCL’s Ann Arbor and University of Michigan chapters. Get details and register for free. You can also connect with your nearest CCL chapter to take action in your community, or join one of CCL’s national online Action Teams to take action on specific topics like agriculture, health, faith, and more. Browse CCL Community’s Event Calendar to find upcoming events, trainings, and calls you can join. |
