Friend,
I know a lot of us can't be with our loved ones this holiday. It's clear that this Thanksgiving will be unlike any we've ever had before, and although we can't all be together, I still want to share my gratitude.
I'm thankful for our frontline workers — the first responders, nurses, doctors, medical researchers, firefighters, educators, child care workers, and others – who are going to work, day after day, to help us get through this challenging time. I'm thankful for everyone working to feed the hungry, house the homeless, and care for the sick – and I'll keep pushing to ensure that the federal government provides the help they need.
I'm thankful for our service members who are defending our nation while we fight another battle at home.
I'm thankful for our local employers who are doing everything they can to weather this storm and provide good jobs in our region. And I'm committed to doing all I can to help them.
I'm thankful for my family. I go to work every day because I want to build a better future for my kiddos – and for all Americans.
I will always be thankful for folks in our region for allowing me to represent you. No matter who you voted for, it's the honor of a lifetime to serve you and the country we love for another two years.
We may not be sitting at the same table with our loved ones this year but keep them close to your hearts. From my family to yours: have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
It's an honor to represent you,
Derek
