** š„ Using AI to help LGBTQ youth and train our counselors
------------------------------------------------------------
Our technology team spoke to VentureBeat about using a natural language processing model to assess a young personās clinical suicide risk level before connecting youth to a counselor.
āGiven The Trevor Projectās vulnerable clientele, it was gravely important for the organization to ensure fairness in its AI. āIn many instances, that includes the reduction of systemic racial and gender bias, and for organizations like The Trevor Project, it also means saving more lives than we ever thought possible.āā

** āļø Otto v. City of Boca Raton decision ignores extensive conversion therapy research
------------------------------------------------------------
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit incorrectly decided in the case of Otto v. City of Boca Raton that bans on LGBTQ conversion therapy violate the First Amendment, while disregarding the real and present danger that these practices have on LGBTQ youth.
āConversion therapy is fraud. No matter how hard you try, you cannot change a personās sexual orientation or gender identity. This so-called therapy has only ever proven to produce negative mental health outcomes and increase the risk of suicide.ā
