New York Times:
Trump to Revoke California's Authority to Set Stricter Auto Emissions Rules

Friend --

Earlier today, while Donald Trump was in California fundraising for his re-election campaign, his administration revoked California's authority to set its own auto emissions standards.

This is actually horrific news that should concern everyone -- especially if you're in the Central Valley.

California has had the ability to regulate its own auto emissions standards since the 1970s. With stricter standards, we've made much-needed cuts to greenhouse emissions -- improving air quality and public health along the way. Other states have even mimicked the standards we've set.

Now, President Trump wants to take that all away. Whether this is part of his broader political hatred for California or a part of his ongoing war on the environment is irrelevant. What's important right now is that we make it clear we won't stand for his attacks on our air quality:

Friend, can sign our urgent petition REJECTING Trump's attacks on our environment? This is very important.

Protect California's Air Quality >> [link removed]-

In the Central Valley, high emissions from vehicles in our highway corridors means we are home to some of the worst air quality in the entire nation -- and it's resulted in a full-blown public health crisis.

The last thing we need is Trump or any other Republican telling us we're better off with lower standards and less investment in clean energy alternatives.

That's not just bad policy -- it's dangerous policy.

Sign our urgent petition. Tell Trump that California stands strong against his attacks on our environment >> [link removed]-
