We Protected Our Elections.
We ensured Americans had safe voting options. RepresentUs launched VoteSafe in the spring to ensure every American could vote safely and securely. Former Homeland Security Secretary and Governor Tom Ridge (R-PA) and former Governor Jennifer Granholm (D-MI) chaired this bipartisan coalition. 300+ national and local media hits spread the message far and wide. 10 million+ people reached through informative videos. $2 million raised to protect our elections. 181 elections officials and partners endorsed VoteSafe’s principles. We made sure mail-in votes were counted. In September, 70 former generals, admirals, and veterans joined the Count Every Hero coalition to ensure we count mail-in votes, including those from overseas military. 5.2 million people reached on social media. 907,556 Americans watched our videos. 44 national media mentions, including Fox News, ABC, and Military Times. We countered threats to the election. 17 million people watched our educational videos. 6 million people learned about threats to our democracy through social media. 29,534 people petitioned state lawmakers to respect the will of voters. 13,895 people spread the word to Save the Vote. 25+ million views to fight misinformation. Wait For It: Hamilton's Leslie Odom Jr. delivered 5 million views in just 48 hours with his stirring plea for us all to #WaitForIt. It trended on Twitter and got shared by the biggest names — including Amy Schumer, who took it to Jimmy Kimmel Live to share the message. See the video: [link removed]
#NakedBallots: We released "Naked Ballots" videos in both English and Spanish, and both were smash hits on the internet. The English version trended on Twitter, garnered over 250 press hits, racked up nearly 20 million views, and was even picked up by Comedy Central who aired it for free on their network. The Spanish version was covered in major Spanish-language outlets and has about 2 million views. See the video: [link removed]
We fought back against baseless claims of election fraud. When the President attempted to compel election officials in key swing states to block certification of ballots, RepresentUs responded with a full page ad in the Detroit Free Press. Thanks to public pressure, officials upheld the will of the people and certified the election. Read the ad.
But we’re not done yet. President-elect Biden is already planning his first moves once in office, but he still has not pledged to fix corruption. Until we end corruption, every issue the administration prioritizes will be stalled by gridlock and tainted by special interests.
