NEW MEXICO HOUSE REPUBLICAN CAUCUS SELECTS ITS LEGISLATIVE LEADERS THROUGH 2022
Albuquerque, November 25—New Mexico House Republicans have chosen their leaders through November 2022. The Caucus elected its leadership yesterday before the Special Session at the Roundhouse.
Representative Jim Townsend was re-elected as House Minority leader. Townsend lives in Artesia and represents District 54, which includes Chaves, Eddy and Otero Counties. Townsend is a member of the House Rules & Order of Business, Judiciary, Energy, Environment & Natural Resources and Printing & Supplies Committees.
Townsend has served in the House of Representatives since 2015.
Representative Rod Montoya of Farmington was re-elected House Minority Whip. He serves District 1 in San Juan County. Montoya is a member of the House Rules & Order of Business, Taxation & Revenue, Energy, Environment & Natural Resources, and Printing & Supplies Committees.
Montoya has also been in the House of Representatives since 2015.
Representative Rebecca Dow has been elected House Caucus Chair. Dow serves the 38th House District, which includes Grant, Hidalgo and Sierra Counties. She lives in Truth or Consequences. Dow serves on the Commerce & Economic Development and Education Committees.
Representative Dow has served in the House since 2017.
House Republicans elect their leadership every two years.
