Dear John,

Thanksgiving this year is going to look different for many of us. Restrictions mean we’re unable to travel to see family. Many of us — too many — are worried about how we’ll pay next month's rent. And thousands of us are grieving the loss of someone we love.

Despite the uncertainty that we all feel about what lies ahead, there are many reasons to be thankful. For our families and our communities. For the home care workers that balance work and family, and still show up to provide life saving services to the elderly, people with disabilities and people with chronic illnesses in their homes. To the thousands of caregivers like you who consistently support your families and loved ones, and who build our movement every day.

It’s never been more clear that caregivers are essential to our lives. That’s why, this Thanksgiving, we're letting caregivers everywhere know that we see them , and we’re showing how thankful we are for everything they do by calling for a large investment in our nation’s care infrastructure. Today we’re releasing a new video featuring the stories of four caregivers to show why care is vital right now. Watch the video and sign our pledge to support care for all! [[link removed]]

These are difficult times, and this pandemic has taken so much from so many. We must use this moment to transform our economy into a caring economy and our country into a caring country, where everyone thrives.

Our families have faced extraordinary tests this year, and we’ve persevered through all of them. Caregivers’ stories can inspire the great changes we need to continue through this pandemic and create a more caring world on the other side.

Time and time again, women, particularly women of color and immigrant women, have found light in the darkness, used tough times to build movements, transformed vulnerability into power, and made the impossible, inevitable.

This Thanksgiving eve, and everyday, let’s show our gratitude for all types of caregivers by envisioning a more caring future, together. And let’s say 'thank you' to our caregivers, engaged supporters, and friends and colleagues in this fight to transform the world around us. Start by watching our video highlighting real caregivers’ real stories, and help share it wide and far.

We’re extremely thankful for the care you put into everything you do and we know that, together, we can transform our economy into a caring economy and our country into a caring country.

With care,
