Hello,
CNN has reported that data “makes clear that Trump's misinformation campaign is having its intended effect with Republican base voters.”
Without any major pushback from elected Republicans or American voters, the data warns that we will certainly “see a sizable chunk of the country believe that Biden cheated his way into the White House. And therefore that they don't really need to listen to him or even recognize him as the duly elected president.”
After four years with this raging narcissist in the White House, we knew better than to expect Trump to leave peacefully -- but his unwavering ploy to undermine our democracy is catching on. Over 50% of Republicans believe Trump “rightfully won.” And Trump’s supporters have been holding “Stop the Steal” rallies in battleground states, claiming that the results are illegitimate -- they almost succeeded in Michigan, where Republican officials refused to certify Biden’s win in Detroit before public outcry made them reverse the decision.
Even though Trump’s claims are not backed by evidence, CNN has warned that his team could “run out the clock enough to put forward a Republican slate of electors in key states where President-elect Joe Biden won the popular vote,” especially since state laws vary on whether they can. After the immense work we’ve put in, we refuse to let Trump use his media tactics to defy the will of the American people; but after such a challenging election cycle for Democrats, we simply don’t have the funds we need to correct his lies at a wide scale.
