As you may know, for the past ___ years, I have been serving on the board of the Village Exchange Center, an Aurora nonprofit that centers on multicultural and multifaith programming. VEC promotes empowerment and equity for the one in five Aurora residents who are immigrants or refugees, addressing food security and economic and cultural integration while celebrating religious and cultural diversity. Even though Covid hit these communities really hard and forced some programs to take a hiatus, VEC continues to meet a range of needs, including: • The after-school youth program currently includes about 15 predominantly Tanzanian-born youth.
