At last, we have reasons for hope.
It's been a long few weeks, months, even years. But we are ready to turn the page #ForProgress.
Despite the unprecedented attempts to suppress the vote in our national election, we witnessed historic turnout. X million people voted across the country in this year's election and, as a result, we will have forward-looking, sensible, and productive policies from the incoming administration starting January 20, 2021. There's hope that our country will now swiftly and effectively address the COVID-19 pandemic; that we will rebuild the economy in a way that works for all Americans; that healthcare will be more affordable and accessible; that we will begin to dismantle systemic racism, and that we will protect our planet. The list is long and ambitious.
With hope comes gratitude. And I am thankful for you. You were with us on the frontlines of the resistance, and now we're honored to have you with us as this country looks to rebuild. We fought so hard to get here, and now we want to make sure progress continues to happen.
One first step we can take to ensure that happens is by simply talking to each other and remaining open and kind with our loved ones, our neighbors and communities — even in our most difficult moments of disagreement. While we might not all be together this year in the ways we are used to, we still have many reasons to pause and give thanks.
I am optimistic that we won't just get back what we lost, but that we'll see this moment in our country as an opportunity to bring a new level of activism, engagement, and change. We must be there for those that need us most we must come together to create true equality and dignity for all.
With all my thanks,
