PEN America today announced that President Barack Obama will accept the PEN America 2020 Voice of Influence Award at our virtual gala celebration on December 8. To mark this honor, President Obama will join Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Ron Chernow for an exclusive writer-to-writer conversation about Obama’s new memoir A Promised Land and why the freedom to write matters now more than ever.
