Thankful for Community Support and YOU!

Thanksgiving is a time for reflection and to give thanks.

This time last year, we were preparing thousands of turkey dinners for residents at many of our properties. Generous volunteers, companies and community partners were baking pies and joining us to dish up hot, nourishing meals.

This year, nothing is the same. Many of our residents are struggling to stay afloat financially and emotionally. And missing traditional family gatherings just adds another layer of uncertainty and disconnection.

During times like these, we are immeasurably grateful for our caring communities and the generous support of our partners, volunteers, and donors.

We are particularly thankful to Salvation Army, AFAC, Capital Area Food Bank, Knights of Columbus, and Montgomery County's Holiday Giving Project for providing food baskets, turkeys, gift cards or prepared meals to many of our residents in need this Thanksgiving season.

From all of us at AHC, we thank you for being part of our family, appreciate beyond words your support during this challenging time, and wish you and yours a safe and healthy holiday.
Double Your Difference on #GivingTuesday, Dec. 1

Giving Tuesday has become a global movement to give back. This year, thanks to AHC Inc.’s generous Board of Directors, all donations made to AHC on Tuesday December 1 will be MATCHED, up to $7,000! So please, while enjoying Thanksgiving, consider asking family and friends to join us in doubling the difference we can make in our community.

Hands-On Opportunity: Create Gift Bags for Seniors

If you're looking for a hands-on way to give back this holiday season, here's a great way to cheer up isolated older residents who are alone during the holidays. We are asking supporters to assemble gift bags with three or four of the following items: activity books, colored pencils, warm socks, winter hat/gloves, and/or tea/hot chocolate. Donors are invited to decorate gift bag(s) and include a card with a friendly message.

Contactless delivery is available on November 30, noon to 5 pm, at AHC’s Arlington office, 2230 Fairfax Drive Arlington. Email Laura Jackson at [email protected] with questions or to schedule an alternative drop off time.

Participants can sign up through the link below. Scroll to the bottom to see the section for helping AHC Seniors.
