Dear friend,
After taking thought and counsel, it is time to reveal to you our plans for the future. Starting this Thursday, we the Editors of Law & Liberty will be sending the first of two original weekly newsletters that will replace our previous emails.
The first, “From the Editors,” was born from our wish to highlight the best that is being thought and said in law, politics and culture. In this Thursday morning newsletter, the Editors will share highlights from essays in Law & Liberty this week and some important dialogue our thinkers are having elsewhere. Beyond that, we will elaborate on what we have been reading or thinking through recently, previewing ideas, books, or policies that will shape the conversation in our pages—and hopefully, in learned circles.
The second forthcoming newsletter we have titled “The Long View.” Delivered Sunday evenings, the Editors will offer a deeper view of the ideas and movements that shaped—and are shaping—American society. Here we will select a few essays and book reviews a week from our wide-ranging archive to help you understand the larger trends that drive the news today, and comment on how we see the great ideas and practices of the liberal tradition guiding us through these present controversies. We will also draw your attention to writing beyond our pages, old and new, that sheds light on today’s issues and those of perennial concern.
We hope you will find these newsletters insightful and rewarding to read, as is our fervent desire with all our efforts. We look forward to sharing them with you—but you must first opt-in to receive them by clicking here.
Sincerely,
The Editors
