The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed above 30,000 today for the first time, extending an eight-month rebound that has taken many analysts by surprise. The blue-chip gauge advanced 454.97 points, or 1.5%, to 30,046.24, continuing a recent winning streak that has put it on track for the best month since 1987, as the

** Vaccine to Ship in Mid-December

Around mid-December, 6.4 million doses of Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine will be shipped out across the United States in an initial push after it receives an expected emergency authorization, officials leading Operation Warp Speed, the administration’s push to fast-track a vaccine, said on a call with reporters today, as the

Yesterday, I wrote about “Songs of Our Own,” a Grateful Dead covers project by Jambase and Telefunken which asked an array of artists to cover Dead originals in honor of the band’s 50
th anniversary in 2015.
I’m fascinated by this third generation of Deadheads, and the “Songs of Our Own” project is just one example of how the Dead’s music is resonating with people who weren’t even born when Jerry Garcia died in 1995. If you don’t think hip, young musicians are into the Dead, look no further than this cover of “Ashes to Ashes ([link removed]) ” by the West End Blend.
Talk about breathing new life and a bright new countenance into a song the Dead first performed in 1982…what a smile.
