I’m furious.

Our Senate managed to confirm a Supreme Court justice in just thirty days – a “historic accomplishment.” And yet, here we are, nearly half a year after the federal government sent folks a sole $1,200 check, and Republicans still refuse to provide additional relief for working families.

Even worse, they’re trying to shut the door on it. McConnell just sent the Senate home until at least November 30th. Let’s be clear: He’s doing that as COVID-19 spikes across the country. People need help.

That is not how our government should operate. If McConnell’s refusal to help the rest of us makes you angry too, here’s how you can fight back: Split a donation between my progressive campaign, and the two critical Georgia Senate runoff elections right now.

As many of my Democratic colleagues fight for real COVID relief in the Senate, their Republican counterparts denigrate that very same relief as a “handout.” But it’s not. This type of relief is money to pay for the heating bill, it’s money to buy diapers for your babies, it’s money to put food on the table.

We have the power to help, but McConnell is using his own power to stop us from taking action. The House has already passed multiple COVID relief bills – legislation that would greatly reduce the economic impact of this pandemic on hardworking families. But as long as McConnell controls the Senate, those bills won’t go anywhere.

But on January 5th, we have the opportunity to wrestle control from McConnell’s hands. If both Ossoff and Reverend Warnock win their runoffs, McConnell loses his place as majority leader of the Senate. Will you split a donation to make sure that happens?

Thanks for taking action,

Ro Khanna
